James Allen Cudworth

James Allen Cudworth, 87, a long-time resident of North Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11th, 2023. It is with heavy hearts that we gather to remember and honor the life of James, known to his loved ones as Jim, a man of remarkable character and unwavering devotion. His quiet demeanor belied a heart overflowing with love and a steadfast commitment to his family. Jim possessed a rare gift: the ability to listen with unwavering attention and empathy. He was a silent pillar of support, offering solace and understanding to those who sought his counsel. Friends and family could always count on him to lend an ear and provide words of wisdom. His compassionate presence brought comfort and healing to countless lives. The great outdoors held a special place in Jim's heart, and he found solace in the serene beauty of nature. He was a regular outdoorsman and golfer, but his favorite hobby was fishing. He spent most of his free time on the shores of Lake Michigan, Long Lake, and Old School Forest Preserve. These activities provided a respite from the demands of daily life and offered moments of reflection and connection with the world around him. Above all, Jim cherished his family above anything else. He was a devoted spouse, a loving parent, and a cherished grandparent. His dedication to supporting and uplifting his family knew no bounds. He found joy in capturing family moments through his camera, spread delight in harmony by playing songs on his guitar, and never failed to let his true love go unnoticed through poetry. Through his unwavering love, he created a foundation of strength and unity, leaving an indelible mark on anyone who crossed paths with him in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Josephine; his first wife, Esther Cudworth, his son John Cudworth; and his siblings Raymond, Bob, Donny, and Barbara Cudworth. Jim will be fondly remembered by his partner and caregiver of 22 years, Teresa Król; his brother George (Pat) Cudworth; his daughters Cynthia Cudworth and Deborah, Elizabeth (Andrew) Klincewicz; his grandchildren Johnathan Payne; Jessica, Jackie, and Timothy (Madeleine) Klincewicz; his great grandchild Olivia Klincewicz. Memorial mass will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 10:00 am at Prince of Peace Church 135 S. Milwaukee Avenue Lake Villa, IL. Burial of his cremains will take place following mass at Ascension Cemetery Libertyville, IL.
