Marco Alberto Delgadillo

Marco Alberto Delgadillo, age 32, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Marco was described by his friends as the kindest and most compassionate individual they have had the privilege of knowing. He was the spark of our lives and could light up the room. To know Marco was to love him. He was the first one to do everything and try everything and he showed his friends how to be a dad. His parents describe him as a partner in crime with his brother Lui and a big brother-dad to his little brother Ivan. Even though he was a mama’s boy, Marco got a tattoo and threw parties while his parents were out of town. His favorite person in the whole wide world was his grandma mama Bita and he was so proud of his Guatemalan and Mexican heritage. Marco was the chunkiest & hungriest baby, born at 9.1 pounds! He also loved fish, including his stuffed Shamu. Marco came and left on his own terms and made a huge impact in his short 33 years. The boy who we thought would never settle down found the love of his life when he met Jennelle. When they were searching for their first home, the only one that met all the requirements coincidentally was two blocks away from his brother Lui. Marco and Jennelle tested the waters of parenthood with Benji and Alfie, their beloved Corgis. They learned they could do it and soon, Emerson was born. Marco and Jennelle bought their second home in Lake Villa to be closer to their parents and in-laws (and for free babysitting.) Life wasn’t busy enough, so they welcomed Presley to their lives. He loved when Emerson started to grow up and they became motorcycle buddies, riding around the neighborhood. Presley not only looks exactly like Marco, but acts like him too, doing things on his own terms. It was sweet to see him give Marco a taste of what it was like when Marco was a boy. Marco’s dad, Jose, showed him how to cook and grill, but Marco made it his own, becoming a master of the smoker and grill. He enjoyed going to his in-laws’ land up north where he felt free riding 4X4s, ATVs, or anything else with an engine and wheels. His chores included cutting the grass, making repairs to his home, cleaning, doing laundry, car repairs, and tending the herb garden and flowers (but not picking up dog poo). Marco found his calling at work serving his clients. He was a great contributor and mentor which allowed him to provide for his family. He is survived by his wife Jennelle Delgadillo; sons Emerson and Presley; parents Claudia and Jose Delgadillo; brothers Luis (Kayla) Delgadillo and Ivan Delgadillo; nice Lily; nephew Dominic; mother-in-law and father-in-law April and Jeff Martin; and sisters-in-law Kristina (Billy) Anderson and Sarina (Ryan Sankey) Umlauf. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Mama Vita. Marco also leaves behind his beloved dogs Benji and Alfie. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Ringa Funeral Home in Lake Villa. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
