Al, 76, passed away in his sleep on March 31st from complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was at home in Antioch, IL surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his wife Kristina (Civinskas), daughter Katherine (husband Scott Hubert), son Nikolas, grandchildren Rebekah, Alexander, Steven and Kimberly, his brothers and sister-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. He attended Mount Carmel High School in Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois- Chicago Circle with a Bachelors in Biology. He later attended Roosevelt University and received a Masters in Microbiology. He retired from Baxter Healthcare in 2004. Al and Kristina were married August 13, 1966, and resided in the Marquette Park area, later moving to Long Lake, Lindenhurst, Lake Bluff and finally Antioch to be nearer the family. Al was an election judge for many years. He was very active in the Lindenhurst youth soccer league both as a coach and referee. He also volunteered to tutor elementary grade children. He volunteered at Shedd Aquarium, 4-H Clubs of America and other civic organizations. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He will be truly missed. Per the deceased's wishes there is no service planned.
