    Angeline Flood

    November 20, 1933 - March 3, 2021

Angeline Flood, 87 years of age, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Condell Medical Center with her family close by. Angeline was born on November 20,1933 in Waukegan, IL to the late Peter and Tillie. She was the third youngest of seven children, five preceded her in death. Angeline was a graduate of Zion Benton High School and also attended Cosmetology School at the Mueller Beauty School in Waukegan, IL. Angeline was the loving mother of the late Cherri (Bob) Parsons, Kimberly (Mark) Davis Ingram, Jennifer (Anthony) Flood, and Miranda (Stevan) Flood; and sister to Caroline (Jim) Armstrong. Angeline was also the proud and loving grandmother to Morgan, Patrick, Michael, Conor, Moira, and Brennan (Miranda & Stevan's children); and Breein and the late April (Cherri's children). "Grandma Flood" was selfless, and she doted on her grandchildren and spoiled them endlessly. She always made sure they were taken of. She never missed attending one of their births, birthday parties, Baptisms, First Holy Communions, piano recitals, graduations, Christmases, Thanksgivings, Easter Dinners, Confirmations, baseball games, summer barbecues, and the like. She was always there for her grand kids and was their pillar of strength. The grandchildren will always remember her assembled Easter & Halloween baskets and the handmade baby blankets that each of them received. Angeline was also a great grandmother and aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Angeline is now reunited with her loving, late husband Michael Flood and other departed family members Peter, Tillie, Aurora, Sophie, Pete, Si, Solomon, Edmund, Vivian, Maureen, Pat, Cherri, April, Mark, and her beloved, departed pets, Peabody and Oxbow. Angeline was a Cosmetologist/Hair Dresser for 50+ years, and styling hair was her passion. Not only did her customers value her, but she always kept her family members looking meticulously groomed. She enjoyed doing hair since she was a child and would give you a haircut "whether you needed one or not." She resided in Lindenhurst, IL more than half of her life, and she loved spending quality time with her grandchildren. While minding them, she'd teach them how to play baseball out in the back yard, and they still play baseball to this day. Angeline also enjoyed tending to her large vegetable gardens, growing beets, egg plants, green beans, peppers, and tomatoes and also taking care of her fragrant rose and honeysuckle flower beds. She embarked on various camping trips around the country with her husband and family, but she also enjoyed her time at home sewing and painting with oils on canvas. Bob Ross was her favorite artist. She admired not only his skills as a painter but also his strong faith. Angeline painted several masterpieces herself with beautiful ocean, mountain, and farmland landscapes that we encouraged her to display more and/or sell. She loved gazing at the clouds in the sky, and buying leopard print for clothing and accessories. Angeline was an excellent cook. Everyone loved her homemade chicken noodle soup (which was always her perfect remedy for a cold), her spaghetti, oatmeal, and cheesy egg and chili pepper tortillas. She spent quiet time reading bible versus, watching happy movies on the Hallmark Channel, watching Billy Graham and also the Food Network. Even in her 80s, she pursued her conceal and carry license, started learning how to play the piano, and read most of James Patterson's books. Music was a big part of her life, too. Engelbert Humperdinck was her favorite singer, and she attended three of his concerts later in life after years of dreaming to see him live. We loved hearing stories of her youth and the life lessons that she taught us. Angeline also supported many charitable causes like St. Jude, the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society, Easter Seals, St. Joseph's Indian School, political and Christian organizations, Wounded Warriors, etc. She will be missed dearly and will forever be in our hearts. A celebration of Angeline's life will be held on Wednesday March 10, 2021 from 10 – 11AM at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa, IL. Funeral Service will begin at 11AM followed by a procession to Warren Cemetery in Gurnee, IL.
