Apolonia 'Pola' Pelc

Apolonia ‘Pola’ Pelc, 88, of Lake Villa, IL passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was born January 3, 1927 in Poland, the daughter of the late Jozef and Aniela Kucharczyk. Pola left Poland and moved to the United States in 1969, eventually settling in Lake Villa in 1974. It was then that she established Jack and Lidia’s Resort on Deep Lake, which she owned and operated until her passing. She was a proud member of the Prince of Peace Church community and was also an avid bingo player and contributor to the Las Vegas casinos. She is survived by her children Lidia (Jerzy) Oleksy and Jack (Anna) Krupka; grandchildren Jerzy (Marzena) Oleksy Jr., John (Jessica) Krupka, and Wojtek (Charmaine) Krupka; great-granddaughter Hanna; and by her brother Jan Marcinkowski. She is also survived by her step-sons Richard Pelc and Christopher Pelc and by many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Jan Krupka and Stanley Pelc, Sr.; sister Seweryna Teresinska; and by her step-children Dolores Remblake and Stanley Pelc, Jr. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 135 S. Milwaukee Ave. (Rte 83) Lake Villa, IL 60046, 847-356-7915. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery in Gurnee, IL.
