Barbara Spirek, 78, formerly of Antioch, IL, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. She was born in Chicago, IL on March 2, 1938, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mami Englese. Barbara was a good listener and was also known for giving good advice. She is survived by her children Sheila (Peter) Thulin and Robert A. Spirek; grandchildren Peter A. Thulin Jr., Lukas (Dorothy) Thulin, Amy (Robert) Barberio, Erin (Christopher) Moss, Kimberly Spirek, Mark Spirek Jr., Anthony Spirek, and Andrew Spirek; great grandchildren Peter III, Sophia, Elizabeth, Dexter, Garrett, Thea, and Elliott; and by her brother Russell Englese. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Spirek, her son Mark (Vicki) Spirek, and her brother Fred English. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave. Lake Villa, IL 60046. Additional visitation will take place on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Buffalo Grove, IL.
