Charlie T. Schmit

March 9, 2001 - January 21, 2022

Charles Thomas Schmit, 20 of Lake Villa died tragically in his sleep Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born on March 9, 2001, to Jean Mayfield and Paul Schmit. He graduated from Lakes High School in 2019, where he was a member of the wrestling team. Charlie went on to begin his college studies at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, WI. Most recently Charlie was working full-time for Jewel in Deerfield, IL. Charlie is survived by his parents Jeanne Leone-Schmit and Paul Schmit; Jean Schmit-Gill and Kevin Gill and twin siblings Alex and Madeline; stepbrothers Brandon and Connor Gill. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents Marynell and Frank Mayfield; Aunt Tomoko & Uncle Matt Mayfield and cousin Mika; Aunt Julie & Uncle Alex Mayfield and cousins Georgia & Anneliese; Uncle Gregory Schmit; and Aunt Amara & Uncle Pete Leone and cousins Peter and Clark & Syndney Leone. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:00 - 3:00 pm at Ringa Funeral Home 122 S. Milwaukee Ave. Lake Villa, IL. A memorial service will begin at 2:30 pm.
