    Daniel C Fehrenbacher

    July 23, 1949 - April 29, 2021

    Daniel Carl Fehrenbacher, 71, of Antioch, Illinois, passed away on April 29th, 2021, after a short stay at Lake Forest Hospital and JourneyCare Hospice of Barrington. Dan was born in Waukegan on July 23, 1949 to Carl and Doris Fehrenbacher of Long Lake. He lived his entire life in Lake County, attending Gavin Grade School and graduating from Grant Community High School in l967. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy (Mortensen Rupe) Fehrenbacher, and his parents. Dan is survived by his treasured children Brian (Shelley) Fehrenbacher of Valrico, Florida, Kari (Chris Buss) Fehrenbacher of Evansville, Wisconsin, and Aaron (Gina) Rupe of Antioch, and six grandchildren: Katrina, Chloe, Trevor, Alexis, Ashtyn and Gabe. He is also survived by his sister, Mari-Anne (Donald) Hechmann of Ingleside, Illinois, many relatives across the country, and his faithfull little dog, Mattie. He leaves behind life long friends James Jablonski, Victor A. Nix III, Florida friends Joel and Sandy Kelley, in addition to many dear friends and good neighbors in the Long Lake, Antioch and Lake County areas, and in the Port Richey, Florida area, where he and Kathy wintered many years. Dan worked at Illinois Bell Telephone (SBC/AT&T) for 30+ years. He was an avid outdoor and sports fan, following the Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox and Nascar events, whether in Illinois or Florida. He loved golfing, fishing, bowling and camping. He stayed active gardening and tending to his yard, birds and flowers year round. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ringa Funeral Home, 122 South Milwaukee Avenue, Lake Villa, Illinois, with a service at 12 noon. The family is most grateful and sincerely thanks the wonderful staffs who cared for Dan at the Lake Forest Hospital and JourneyCare, and they extend a special thanks to Anthony Kesman and Marlo Nelson.
