Later he moved to Florida, where he perfected his trade of 50 plus years. Joe and Joan started their family in Florida, moved to Oak Park, Illinois, and then spent 42 years at their beloved farmhouse on Rollins Road in Lake Villa. As the patriarch of “Metzger’s Corner” he nurtured his family, many friendships, and his bucolic lawn. Friends and family are asked to meet at Saint Peter Church 27551 Volo Village Road Volo, Il, on Monday September 16, 2019 for a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian burial. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
