Rigoberto Ibarra
June 14, 1976 - March 1, 2022
On the evening of Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Rigoberto (“Rigo”) Ibarra passed away at the age of 45. Rigo was born June 14, 1976, in Vicente Guerrero, Durango, Mexico to Bernardino and María Concepción Ibarra. Rigo’s early childhood was spent in the neighborhood of Little Village in Chicago. At the age of 12, his family moved to Round Lake Beach, Illinois, and as an adult, he lived in the Lake County area. Rigo appreciated all aspects of music – he DJ’ed in his teens and early 20s and he frequently attended concerts with family and friends. He was particularly fond of house music, alternative music, and indie rock. Additionally, Rigo took pleasure in the outdoors - spending time fishing and taking in the beauty of nature in various national parks. As an avid sports fan, Rigo loved all Chicago sports teams (Go Sox!). Rigo’s passion for sports extended overseas to Manchester City’s soccer team. On match day, he would wake up before sunrise to make sure he saw Man City’s kick-off. Rigo was a truly kind man with tremendous love and empathy for those around him. He will be dearly missed as a husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife Sue, his daughter Arianna, his parents Bernardino and María Concepción, his brothers Moisés, Cesar, and Heriberto, and his grandson Ignacio. To honor his life, a visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Ringa Funeral Home on 122 S Milwaukee Ave, Lake Villa from 3 – 7 PM with a service to begin at 6:00 pm. Cremation will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Rigo's memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital: https://bit.ly/3tvLbsL
