Teresa Cueva

October 18, 1933 - June 17, 2022

Teresa Cueva passed away on June 17, 2022, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. Teresa was born in Latin America. As a young woman, she boarded a plane bound for the U.S.A. with young children in tow to meet her husband and start a new life in a foreign country. She was a shy, young bride when she married, but in the U.S.A. adversity and financial hardship molded her into a strong and courageous woman. She worked two jobs, toiled in hot factories for hours each day, and fought to give her children a better life. Testament to this is that all her children graduated from some of the top universities in the U.S.A. She didn’t let her age keep her from walking an hour each day, lifting weights, cooking, and doing household chores. One of her favorite past times was playing games on her iPad. She enjoyed watching Perry Mason, Disney movies, and stopping by Starbucks to get her favorite, a pink drink. She had many sayings that fit any occasion, one of her favorites being: “No me importa ni un pepino” roughly translated to “I don’t care even a cucumber.” Her faith was unwavering. She loved her children fiercely and blessed them every time they left the house. She made it a point to include the family pets in her prayers. She is deeply loved and survived by her children, brothers, and sisters, daughters and son-in-laws as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is loved by many and will be missed.
