William Sievers

William E. Sievers, 96, of Round Lake Park, IL passed away at home on Friday, August 29, 2014. He was born December 12, 1917 in Edwardsville, IL, the son of the late William H. and Emma (nee Sickbert) Sievers. He was a resident of Round Lake Park for nearly 30 years, moving from Morton Grove, IL. Bill served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II as a flight simulator instructor. He was a special products engineer for Victor Business Machines, retiring after over 40 years of service. Bill was active in his church communities and was also an avid genealogist. Bill and his family also actively participated in living history for many years, engaging in a variety of Civil War encampments. He is survived by his children Tom (Melody Mindelli) Sievers of Wauconda, and Carolyn (James) Hill of Grayslake; grandchildren David Sievers of Chicago and Tim Wadsworth of Round Lake Park; and by his brother Charles Sievers of California. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty and by his brother Frederick Sievers. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave (Rte 83) Lake Villa, IL 60046. A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Gearke officiating.
