Katherine 'Kay' Neumann

Katherine Neumann, 84, of Lindenhurst, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Kay was the cherished daughter of John and Mary Walter, whom she now rejoins in Heaven, along with her soulmate and beloved husband, Ron. Together, Kay and Ron built a life rooted in faith, family and love. Kay made their house a true home - one filled with warmth, laughter and open doors. She devoted herself to raising their four children and was happiest hosting holidays, gathering family after church and watching her grandkids grow through the years. Family was at the heart of everything Kay did. She enjoyed being an annual snowbird, traveling south to Florida to visit her brother and soak up the sunshine and ocean views she loved so much. Kay also took great pride in her gardening, bringing beauty and softness to her husband's eclectic décor throughout their yard. Deeply committed to her faith, Kay was an active member of her church, where she continued to grow spiritually and treasured the meaningful relationships she formed through Bible study and fellowship. Her family will forever find comfort in the many memories they shared with her. Her voice calling out hello as you walked through the front door, her heartfelt “I love yous,” and her kind, calm and gentle presence. Kay was pure sunshine to all who knew her. Kay was a loving wife to Ron for 60 incredible years before his passing in 2019. She was the devoted mother of Mary (Fred) Bentel, Ronnie Neumann, Debbie (Kurt) Corcilius, and Danny (Sheila) Neumann; a proud grandmother to Heather, Stephanie, Jenny, Sara and Danielle; a loving Nana to Callie, Tony, Carson and Gracie; a dear sister to John; and a fond cousin and friend to many. She will be deeply missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace, and they will see her again one day in their Heavenly home. Friends and family may visit at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1822 E. Grand Ave., Lindenhurst, IL, on Friday, February 6, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Millburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to honor her love for animals.
